First off I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that deep down you have no desire to go back to NR2003... I know it's frustrating with everything thats happened but the (immediate) future is SCE not to mention the countless other games that will be coming out in the future as a result of nobody having exclusive NASCAR rights anymore.

Now that thats out of the way I have an idea that may be worth thinking about for the time being... Since we only have a few guys interested in running (I'm including myself even though I've been absent lately) what about running exclusively in ESRL under the banner of TEAM GOBRL (or some other variation). I see on the new website they already have a few teams listed. We could share information and setups, draft together, private chat, etc.. You could still keep this as the team site if you wanted to and who knows what the future will bring... it would keep options open...

The following is strictly my opinion & I do not claim to represent or speak for anyone but myself. Personally, I would like to see Nascar 2003,open sets, full damage for at least one series. Yes Rfactor is where sim racing is going to be in the future for the sim-racing community, and that would be the program to use if someone was trying to compete for the #1 sim-racing site on the net.
Nascar 2003 is a proven game(for GOBRL anyway), very user friendly, and is what guys at GOBRL have played and became very familiar with for many years. Yes 2003 is not cheat proof. So what.
If someone has to cheat at a game to be competitive or to always win, let them. That does not bother me in the least because that is a problem that no anti-cheat program is going to solve anyway.
Those people(grown men at that)need a more serious type program to fix that problem and only a phyciatrist can administer that program. I liked racing at GOBRL because of the user friendly program(Nascar 2003)
and the great group of guys that obviously have known one another for years. It was a good place to have fun on Sunday night before the workweek commenced. Personally, I would like to have fun with a game I know & people I know like we have in the past and not have to start all over. If you want to see some of the old drivers back on your track, bring back Nascar 2003 and lets have fun. That's what it is all about anyway,is'nt it?

Just a thought, why not have a night for Nascar 2003. You guys were saying that Thursdays were slow anyways, so fill it with nascar 2003 instead. This way you will draw in the some of the drivers from 2003.
Also, continue to keep having the Rfactor races the way you guys want to run them. Once, people start racing 2003 and winning, you can say, will "Just try to beat me at Rfactor".

Another thing I would like to see is at least one open setup series in Rfactor. Possibly fixed on Saturday, and Open on Sunday. I personally like the open setup, because you can change it to your style of driving. I really don't mind the fixed setup, but it would be nice to set the car up the way I want it to be.

As for racing at GOBRL, I love it here. Id rather race with the same people than go to another league that has a high turnover rate. I feel more comfortable racing the same people cause you get to know the driving styles better. Doesn't matter if they burn the tires off or go slow and steady, at least I know your style, and race accordingly.

I'm sure the Sunday Night ESRL thing will build with time if we stick with it. My only suggestion then would be to definitely NOT wait around for any of the drivers from the Elite series. They're in that series for a reason. I think the goal would be to draw in the drivers that are more on our skill level, new to rFactor etc.. If we wait on the Elite guys yea its more drivers but they're basically gonna act as "ringers".. popping in whenever they are free and beating our butts.. When we advertise at ESRL we could emphasize 'Beginners Welcome' or 'New to Cup? Learn here' or some such thing... we need to be Sunday nights Alternative to the Elite series.

As far as the other 2 ideas..
NR2003 night.. Yeah I think it would likely bring in some more drivers, would many end up switching to rFactor?... who knows. I personally have no interest in playing that game ever again and going back and forth between the 2 would make it more difficult for the guys trying to learn rFactor.

Open Set Night... A nice idea.. I'm up for that. However I have a feeling it would tend to lead to the same 1 or 2 guys winning all the time but...

Either one would mean more work for Jody and Bob and I think they are trying to lessen the work load at the moment :D

We will be going with the original plan at ESRL and I like your thinking Karl great ideas man.I agree with you I don't want to go back and forth between games and personally I don't have time to make a setup so that's out for me right now and there is not enough people left here to run a open setup league I feel.We wil just have to play that by ear.Lets keep the disussion going guys and see were it goes we will have a gobrl meeting after this Sunday say next Sunday there will be no race so we will have a gobrl meeting in ventrilo and get some real talking going on more to come on that.Gotta go to work will post more later.

Hi guys,

I am 1 of the drivers from ESRL and would like to chime in here if I could?
Jody and Bob raced at our Unitedsim/ESRL Sportsman Race on Saturdaynight and did a great job. Now I have never raced Nascar2003 with you guys, but have run my fair share of Papyrus races since 2001. I raced over at Onlineracin.com (OLR). It was either pay a million dollars to race iRacing or pay the 35 bucks or whatever it cost to buy rFactor. I had to do something because Papyrus was done. So here i am at SCE and loving every bit of it.

We have some very Tallented drivers at ESRL who are willing to help anyone with tips, setups or anything you need.

So come join us in 1 of the servers (SaturdayNight) and check us out.

Hey Eddy don't forget to put your vote in ok and don't forget to run with us on Sunday nights as well all are welcome to run with us from ESRL.There are a great bunch of guys over there and if some of the old guys here would just show up and give this game a chance they would see why we like it so much it's not that nonuser friendly you just have to get to know it and there are tons of people out there willing to help the new ones get going.I think we all need to give this game a chance everyone just quite without giving it a real chance. Looks like from the voting we will be going with the SCE so far.I just wish everyone would really give it a chance it's a great realistic game and that's what we have always wanted.The guys that have worked on this mod put a lot of time and work in to making it as real as possible and they have even gotten insite from 2 nascar drivers in making it and continue to make it better.
